Popular and Culture & Soccer in Colombia is Passion

     Popular and Culture, two words to define the society. The concepts about those words are the most important thing I learned in this first part of the class, due to, we talk about the culture all the time but we did not know the proper meaning about it. Both words are the difference among the cities and countries and both reflect the history and the trend of the society. Likewise, to identify to a community throughout their icons, people, events, places and customs allow us to foreign persons, to be closer and understand many concepts and processes in The United States. Also, those meaning helped me to comprehend different aspects of my country, which are very common such as the customs, behaviors and attitudes In conclusion, Cultural Identity was useful to build a new connection with America.   

Soccer in Colombia is Passion

   Part of the Colombian Culture is Soccer.  Many social and familiar activities are done surrounding soccer every Wednesday and Sunday, because our professional teams are playing in the main cities of the country, where is common to see the fans wearing their teams’ shirts and supporting their favorite club. Likewise, if the people cannot go the stadiums, they meet in some bar or their houses to enjoy the match, eat typical food and drink a lot.

  On the other hand, Soccer is a big business in Colombia, due to we have 15 professional teams, which participate in different international events, we have two tournaments every year, and there are many soccer schools and stores to sell the clothes and souvenirs of the teams. However, Soccer has generated violence, because many fans die every year for lack tolerance and respect between them and it is a big issue for the government, who looking for an early solution. In short, Soccer in Colombia is a distraction for the people and it help to forget for a few minutes our biggest problems.
